ABOUT TZU-CHIEH TANG
Tzu-Chieh (Zijay) is a synthetic biologist using microbes to build climate biotech at the Wyss Institute at Harvard. He obtained his Ph.D. from the Department of Biological Engineering at MIT, where he worked with both the Synthetic Biology research group at the Research Laboratory of Electronics (RLE) and the Mediated Matter research group at MIT Media Lab. With a strong interest in Nature\'s design, he combines synthetic biology and materials design to create sustainable living materials that sense and respond to the environment. He was also the inaugural J-WAFS fellow at MIT, a finalist of the 2021 Collegiate Inventors Competition, and the winner of the 2021 Peake Research Prize & the 2020 Lemelson-MIT Student Prize.
