Technology shouldn\'t resemble a jungle with:Tangled vines of integrations that flow from one system to another.Obstructed teams and isolated data.It should be simpler. It should make work more straightforward.That\'s what drives me here at Open Door Technology. I enjoy helping heavy equipment dealers and rental companies simplify technology to make their jobs easier.However, getting here has been a bit of a journey.I\'ve had a diverse career and various hobbies. I\'ve owned businesses, sat on boards, studied accounting, worked as a treasurer, engaged in multiple industries, and even had a stint as a Calgary police constable! I collect Belgian beer, smoke food, road bike, run long distances, and for fun, I scour balance sheets in the evening, looking for the perfect investment.Throughout my career, I\'ve excelled at improving business processes. As a business owner, processes were essential. I owned a successful media company and consulting firm where we needed processes for everything, from helping clients realize their vision to managing company finances, holdings, investments, consulting on new markets, budget creation, and managing teams.During my time as a police constable, I became adept at investigations and getting to the root of problems. This experience has proved invaluable in helping clients refine their internal processes so we can enhance and streamline their work.All of this led me to Open Door Technology. Now, I help our clients improve and automate their processes, all with the goal of enhancing business outcomes.What drives me is knowing: That the parts department can have up-to-date information with proper warehousing and reordering. Accounting doesn\'t need numerous spreadsheets to complete an accounting cycle, calculate disposal, or handle manual reconciliations.‍ Owners can have a comprehensive picture, not just a partial one, and can effectively plan for growth with access to real-time data. Rental departments can strategize their fleet planning and provide superior customer service.There is hope, and opting for quick, short-term system solutions to address immediate problems is not the answer. I can help navigate this jungle with you. It isn\'t complicated if you have the right information and a guide working alongside you.
