About Tylo Blackburn

Fourth year, undergraduate Sport Management student with a desire and passion to learn, network, and grow as a professional. Currently working as a Peer Academic Coach at Northern Illinois University. Helping with student outreach and advocacy, assisting students in need or who have general questions and providing them with campus resources, running informational tabling events and presentations about department services, attending on-campus events on the department\'s behalf, acting as a peer mentor, and doing general clerical work. Over 9 total years in retail and customer service experience, including general management, merchandising, point of sales systems, business operations, money handling, training procedures, and customer service. Oversaw and managed roughly 15 associates in multiple departments. Implemented a new merchandising technique for window treatments which caught district and regional management\'s attention, which in turn, began being used at stores throughout the Midwest. Areas of interest that are being pursued for internships and possible careers for after graduation are event management, collegiate athletics, community outreach, youth sport organizations, sport for development, and international sport.
