ABOUT TYLER WOOD
I am a Biomedical Engineering student at the George Washington University, pursuing a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering with minors in Electrical Engineering and Biophysics, and will be continuing my education at the University of Southern California as a Master’s student in Biomedical Engineering on the Medical Devices and Diagnostics track.My interests lie in medical devices, electronics, and therapeutic delivery systems. I have designed and prototyped integrated hardware-software systems, with experience in wearable medical devices, and embedded systems. My recent work includes developing a near-infrared wearable device for controlled drug delivery using thermally triggered liposomal release, as well as an assistive earpiece for Parkinson’s tremor management. I have designed custom PCBs with closed-loop feedback control and built digital and analog circuits ranging from power supplies to signal processing systems. Through these projects, I have developed a strong foundation in CAD, circuit design, and embedded systems, with a focus on translating engineering principles into functional, patient-oriented devices.I served as Captain of the GW Sailing Team for two years, where I led over 30 athletes, managed team operations, and helped grow the program through increased fundraising and recruitment. This experience has strengthened my ability to lead teams, communicate effectively, and execute under pressure.I am currently seeking internship opportunities in medical device design, product development, and R&D for Summer and Fall 2026.
