I am a Mechanical Engineer who enjoys building intuitive, beautiful mechanical devices with a premium feel. I love to leverage my knowledge of materials and manufacturing methods to keep costs low without effecting perceived quality.I have taken multiple consumer products from concept through mass production with an eye toward innovative yet reliable part design, validation and reliability testing, and analysis of field failures to inform future designs.Highlights - Design for Manufacturing: I have spent lots of time in China at assembly and part vendors, understand how to leverage this environment effectively and efficiently - CAD Expert: 10 years of experience working with CAD systems in a professional environment, from SolidWorks to ProEngineer / Creo and Unigraphics / NX - Consumer Product Design - Using a basis of research and data I build intuitive, reliable products that are pleasant for consumers to interact with- Creativity: I am a creative person and I fill my time designing mechanisms and teaching myself new skills like woodworking, audio production, and music theory- Team Player: I thrive in a collaborative team environment with interdisciplinary people.Specialties - Acoustic systems: I have developed several acoustic systems for consumer applications, ranging from musical systems to piezoelectric buzzers for alarms to loudspeaker systems for intercom functionality - Material Selection: Working alongside material scientists, I have learned the ins and outs of plastics, rubbers, metals, and material selection for a variety of environmental and reliability concerns- Cross functional work: I\'ve enjoyed learning from great industrial designers, EEs, sensors engineers, optics experts, supply managers, and acoustic engineers in the past and will always work to become an expert in any fields my work overlaps with
