Being a software developer was a far-off dream when I was in high school, but once I turned in my first assignment for my Introduction to Java class at NDSU, I realized that it was fun and it came pretty easy to me. I knew that the industry was going to be competitive and that I would need to set myself apart from everyone else. It felt like I was already \'behind\' some of the other students who had spent their summers in High School learning to code, while I was working on a cattle ranch. I used this to fuel my competitive side and started working on projects outside of class.Since starting college, I\'ve built various websites and apps, interned at Microsoft, worked in Anchorage, Alaska, and now live in Denver, Colorado.
