About Tyler Schneider
I’m a backend software engineer with ~6 years of experience building, refactoring, and operating production systems—primarily in Ruby on Rails, with supporting work in Python and JavaScript.Most of my experience has been focused on backend services, APIs, internal developer tooling, and event-driven systems. I’ve worked extensively with PostgreSQL, background job processing, and asynchronous workflows to support data-heavy and operationally sensitive features. A recurring theme in my work is taking existing systems and making them easier to reason about, safer to change, and more reliable under load.I care deeply about clean code, testing, and engineering practices that improve long-term velocity rather than just short-term output. I enjoy building foundational systems—event pipelines, internal APIs, automation primitives, and developer-facing interfaces—that other engineers rely on to move faster with confidence.Recently, I’ve been working independently on event systems and analytics-style data processing in Ruby, continuing to sharpen my skills while exploring better ways to structure internal data flows.
