About Tyler Shultz

I’m a scientist at heart, founder by nature, whistleblower by accident, speaker by day, venture partner by night, and Dad 24/7.I\'ve always pursued my curiosities, been guided by my core values, and stubbornly adhered to my ethics. These characteristics have sent me on wild personal and professional journeys. My professional life began by exposing unethical practices at Theranos, which led to the collapse of the $9B company and 10+ years of prison time for its CEO and COO. Since then, I’ve co-founded two diagnostics companies: a deep tech spinout from Stanford’s Center for Magnetic Nanotechnology and a direct-to-consumer diagnostics and telehealth company. Beyond building companies, I advise startups and venture funds, helping them navigate the technical, commercial, and ethical challenges that come with scaling groundbreaking ideas. As a speaker, I share my experiences with audiences worldwide, exploring themes of truth, courage, and building cultures of integrity while tailoring each talk to the specific audience - founders, executives, employees, students, investors, board members, regulators, compliance experts, media ect. For better or worse the Theranos saga offers lessons to a lengthy list of stakeholders. Through this work, I’ve been able to take the most negative experience of my life and turn it into a positive one. I aim to inspire individuals and organizations to do what’s right—even when it’s difficult—and to demonstrate how ethical principles can be a powerful advantage in achieving lasting success.

   Keynote speaker at conferences, universities, and corporate events. I\'ve had the opportunity to share my story of exposing Theranos to audiences across the world, including events in Dubai, Vancouver, Barcelona, and most major US cities. I\'m always humbled that people are willing to listen to my experiences, learn from them, and hopefully even get a laugh or two out of an otherwise dark cautionary tale.
