Reporting directly to the Chief Legal Officer & Corporate Secretary, responsible for the CPKC corporate secretarial function, including organizing and acting as secretary for all CPKC/CPRC board and committee meetings. Other areas of legal responsibility include: M&A, securities & stock exchange matters, financial and other material disclosure, AGM and proxy related matters, corporate governance and compliance, corporate sustainability, patent and trademark management, and legal policy development, implementation and training. Oversees a team of highly skilled legal professionals in Canada and the U.S. and is responsible for successfully managing the budget for the Office of the Corporate Secretary, including reducing costs through strategic and efficient use and engagement of internal and external legal counsel and other advisors.
