About Tyler Moravec

I\'m a construction professional with nearly a decade of experience at Kiewit, growing from intern to General Superintendent by consistently delivering on complex, high-impact projects across the U.S.My career has spanned mission-critical healthcare construction, historic renovations, transit infrastructure, and large-scale water treatment facilities. I’ve led projects through all phases—estimating, buyout, GMP development, scheduling, field execution, and closeout—while managing diverse teams and driving collaboration between clients, subcontractors, and design partners.Along the way, I\'ve built a reputation for stepping into fast-paced, high-pressure environments and bringing structure, clarity, and results. From spearheading change management on a museum renovation, to managing safety and operations on a 100-day WMATA shutdown, to leading field teams on a modular hospital install, I’ve developed a passion for smart problem-solving and proactive leadership. Now based in Portland, I\'m proud to be serving as General Superintendent on one of the Pacific Northwest’s most significant infrastructure projects: a 135 MGD water filtration facility built through a collaborative CM/GC delivery.

Experience

  1. Project Manager

    Kiewit

Jul 2024 — Present · Portland, OR, US

As a Project Manager leading the structural concrete and building construction efforts for Portland’s Bull Run Filtration Facility, I’m contributing to one of the region’s most significant water infrastructure upgrades, a project designed to provide long‑term reliability, climate resilience, and clean drinking water for nearly one million customers. This state‑of‑the‑art facility, located on a 95‑acre site in eastern Multnomah County, will deliver 135 million gallons per day of filtered water, utilizing advanced granular media filtration technology. It is part of a broader initiative that includes 6.5 miles of seismically resilient pipeline, sustainable construction practices, and LEED Gold and Envision Certification goals.Construction at the filtration site involves major excavation, extensive concrete work, and foundational building development—key elements that support critical treatment structures and long‑term system performance. Crews are actively preparing subgrade building foundations, supporting large‑diameter pipeline installation, and shaping the facility’s future operational footprint.Beyond its engineering complexity, this project plays an essential role in strengthening the region’s wildfire resilience and safeguarding water quality during extreme weather, ash events, and natural disasters.I take pride in delivering high‑quality structural and building components that will anchor this legacy project ensuring the Bull Run water system remains strong, sustainable, and reliable for generations to come.
