About Tyler Harshey

I am responsible for leading and developing health solutions for Mercer’s Professional Employer Organization (PEO) clients to better manage their health benefit offerings they provide, in turn, to their own clients to grow their business. Prior to this current role, I was the national leader of Mercer’s US Health & Benefits Actuarial Financial Group (AFG) that provides actuarial guidance to clients. Responsibilities included ensuring that best actuarial practices were used for all client deliverables; provided thought leadership in development of tools and processes to improve quality and efficiency of work product to improve Mercer’s value to its employer clients. I have also previously worked in actuarial positions at both benefit consulting and insurance carriers and has had participated in a wide array of strategic projects on behalf of clients and building intellectual capital for insurance companies and consulting firms. I currently reside in Chicago and have 20+ years of actuarial experience in the health care benefits field. I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in actuarial science, am a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries and a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries.
