ABOUT TYLER BRAND
Tyler started off at sea in 1986, sailing as a young bosun\'s mate on a 130\' gaff-rigged schooner. After finishing a Neuro-Science degree at the University of Victoria he returned to the sea. Sailing for many years in the Canadian Coast Guard as a rescue specialist and navigation training officer he took on many roles with regard to training. Surf rescue was a highlight when he served as an instructor at the Bamfield Rigid Hull Inflatable Operator Training (RHIOT) School 1998-99. He spent five years at Virtual Marine Technology running the Pacific office in Victoria then ran operations at RaceRocks3D. After completing the virtual ship training package for the Navy\'s new replenishment ship ASTERIX in 2017, Tyler returned to the Coast Guard as the Superintendent of Readiness in Operations. Tyler is a fiction writer and the author of many publications and books on Search and Rescue and High-Speed Navigation.
