Hi, I’m Dr. Ty’ya Pettis, also known as Ty.About Me Professionally:I am a brand marketing and communications strategist with a robust corporate and nonprofit marketing background. As the Director of Strategic Marketing & Communications at Woodmont Properties, I oversee the development and execution of our corporate and employer brand identities. My role encompasses the full breadth of corporate communications—including brand management, public relations, internal communications, and reputation management. My expertise extends beyond corporate environments; I also hold multiple leadership roles within nonprofit organizations, where I provide marketing and brand strategy support to amplify their missions and causes.About Me Academically:I am a marketing practitioner-scholar, having recently earned my Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) with a concentration in Marketing from Rutgers Business School. My dissertation research focused on the incorporation of corporate socio-political activism (CSA) initiatives into brand strategy and evaluating their impact on consumer behavior, corporate brand, and employer brand equity. Through my doctoral journey, I have gained expertise in race theory, the evolution of CSR to CSA, and corporate brand communications. My academic pursuits are fueled by a desire to educate the next generation of marketers. I aim to teach marketing, branding, and communications at the collegiate level, guiding students on how brands can positively shape societal narratives.About Me Personally:We live in a world of labels and identifiers, so here are mine.
