View department →

Washington, DC, US

As head of food systems data and analytics at GAIN, I lead research initiatives that bridge the gap between nutrition science and actionable policy. I provide strategic direction and technical oversight for major data initiatives, which provide essential tools for evidence-based decision-making in global food systems. Through strategic partnerships with leading academic institutions—including Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Cornell University, Columbia University, and Johns Hopkins University—I foster collaborative research that strengthens the evidence base for nutrition interventions. In this role, I have led extensive research on micronutrient deficiencies and inadequacies, diet quality, affordability, and the role of animal-source foods in healthy and sustainable diets. I also serve on expert advisory groups for the United Nations, including WHO, FAO, and UNICEF. Through these partnerships and my leadership, GAIN has strengthened its position as a key contributor to global nutrition data and analytics, helping to shape evidence-based approaches to improving nutrition worldwide.
