Flight Software Engineer Iii @Firefly Aerospace

View department →

Currently writing flight software for Firefly\'s orbital transfer vehicle, SUV, as well as its lunar lander Blue Ghost missions awarded to it by NASA which will deliver scientific payloads to the lunar surface. Previously led development of fully integrated hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) effort to simulate and model every non-GNC related component on Firefly\'s Alpha Launch Vehicle. Acquired hardware that the simulation will run on, building out necessary components and infrastructure to interface with both ground and flight software. Simulation is written entirely in C++ with multi-threaded capabilities in order to properly simulate components that are modeled and telemetered at specific timesteps. Although simulator is written with an intent for the Alpha launch vehicle, it is modular enough to function for future and existing launch/lunar vehicles, with only minor modifications. Multidisciplinary approach is taken with relevant SWEs in their fields (fluids/propulsion/avionics/etc.) to ensure an accurate modeling of every necessary system. The simulator will also be able to interface with GNC simulations written with NASA\'s Trick framework in mind, communicating via the \"Trick Variable Server\".
