My current role is now under the IT department of Tractor Supply company. My team,\"Supply Chain / Demand fulfilment\" manages applications that are centered around managing the end to end process of getting orders into stores. This includes Warehouse Management systems, Transportation management systems, SAP programs, and our forecasting and replenishment system, Relex. While I have gained invaluable knowledge about each functional area, I am primarily focused on Relex. Job responsibilities involve managing 20+ nightly data interfaces to the application securely. Likewise, up to 6 order files must then be retrieved overnight and sent to downstream systems in a timely manner. It is critical that this process works seamlessly every night in order to maintain work for our distribution centers. Even a short disruption could result in millions of dollars of lost downtime at our DC facilities. As a result we have built out an multi-faceted monitoring and alerting plan to ensure we are notified promptly overnight in the event of any impending issues. Likewise, we have emergency mitigation techniques to ensure some variety of order proposals are based downstream in the event that the most up to date data cannot be used. Outside of these ongoing responsibilities, I am on numerous projects at any given time that require knowledge of the forecasting and replenishment file flow and business logic. Typically, over half of my working hours are spent on projects making enhancements to overall company processes in an IT capacity.
