Years into retirement, a friend convinced me to substitute teach at her district. This led to a position on the ELPAC team for National School District, San Diego. ELPAC (English Language Proficiency Assessment) consists of two assessments: one for the initial identification of students as English learners and a second for the annual summative assessment to measure a student’s progress in learning English.
