About Twila Kilgore
Relational leader in elite football environments, with experience across youth development, collegiate, professional, and international levels, including leadership of the U.S. Women’s National Team.I served as an assistant coach with the U.S. Women’s National Team at the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and on the gold medal–winning 2024 Olympic Team. Between the Vlatko Andonovski and Emma Hayes eras, I was appointed Interim Head Coach, leading the team for nearly nine months and 14 matches. During that period, the team recorded 10 wins, one loss, and three draws, while winning both the inaugural CONCACAF W Gold Cup and the 2024 SheBelieves Cup against top international opposition (Brazil, Canada, Japan).I have worked across U.S. Soccer’s youth pathway from U14 through U23, supporting alignment between long-term player development and high performance. At the professional level, I previously served as an assistant coach with the Houston Dash, contributing to the club’s 2020 NWSL Challenge Cup title. I also spent 14 years as a Division I NCAA coach, leading programs and developing players, staff, and performance environments.I am the first American-born woman to earn the USSF Pro License; also holds UEFA “A” License. Currently I am engaged in advanced technical study, applied research, and club immersion across U.S. and European environments while preparing for next senior role. I am also an Advisor with Gradient Sports, contributing to the application of proprietary player-grading methodology to the women’s game.I am open to conversations with individuals, clubs, and federations across football, performance, coaching, leadership, and long-term development as well as mentoring coaches along their own pathway.
