About Twenewaa Adu-Oppong
As the Senior Director of Programs at Breakthrough Houston, I lead a team of educators and counselors to support low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented students in their pursuit of higher education. I oversee the design and implementation of academic, social, and financial programs that help students prepare for, apply to, and enroll in college. I am passionate about finding and creating space for driven students who face systemic barriers and challenges in accessing and succeeding in higher education. I have a Master of Education degree in Higher Education Administration from Harvard University, where I focused on equity, diversity, and inclusion issues and policies. I also have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Women\'s Studies from the University of Pennsylvania, where I was a recipient of the prestigious Jack Kent Cooke Young and College Scholarship. I have extensive experience in college advising, youth development, and volunteer management, having worked with over 400 students and parents at the Academic Success Program and Breakthrough of Greater Philadelphia.
