   As the head of technology, my role is to digitize various aspects of the firm\'s business and prepare it for the next phase of expansion with the support of technology. My initial task was to establish a dedicated team of enthusiastic technologists who could work independently to develop solutions for different verticals of McDonald Pelz\'s business, such as commodity research and trade execution. In 2021, we focused on creating global forward price matrices using price quotes from the CME exchange, expected cash trade prices, and freight rates. This solution is widely used by traders and brokers worldwide to estimate future destination prices at various ports and make trade decisions accordingly. Over the past three years, we have undertaken multiple projects, including setting up a data warehouse containing Indian agricultural data and implementing procedures for seamlessly maintaining and updating this database, eliminating the need for manual intervention. This database supports the commodity research team in gaining market insights and fuels an analytics dashboard, facilitating the automated creation of research reports for McDonald Pelz clients. Recently, we migrated the physical trade execution process from a primitive Excel-based approach to a CRM-based solution. This not only improved process efficiency but also enabled brokers and management to access real-time insights, address challenges, and make decisions to drive business expansion. Currently, we are working on using machine learning and artificial intelligence to create price response models that can calculate the impact of market events such as weather disturbances, demand-supply changes, and geopolitical constraints on commodity prices. These models will assist brokers in determining future market trends.
