ABOUT TUREA HUTSON
With over a decade of experience in education, communication, and outreach, I am a research assistant at the Center for Measurement Justice, where I conduct and present research on topics related to justice-oriented assessment in educational settings. As an independent DEI consultant, I also lead and support trainings and workshops for various groups and organizations on how to foster inclusive and equitable environments and practices. I offer my expertise and guidance to clients and partners who seek to enhance their DEI initiatives and strategies using a data-based approach. I am an ABD Ph.D. candidate in education leadership and policy at Drexel University, where I explore the intersections of education, social justice, and public policy. I have a master\'s degree in literacy studies and a bachelor\'s degree in elementary education and teaching from Arcadia University. I have previously worked in government and political settings, where I developed and implemented programs and campaigns to engage diverse stakeholders and promote public awareness of vital issues and services. I am a self-starter, a team player, and a visionary leader who can navigate challenging conversations with grace and build consensus among diverse perspectives. I am motivated by the mission of creating a more inclusive and equitable society for all.
