I work for Ford of EU on behalf of Semcon, on developing emission sensor applications of new commercial vehicles.A short summary of the responsibilities I have is that designing the installation of core sensor hardwares and associated mounting components within the vehicle package in accordance with Ford design guides, validating the complete sensor assemblies on the vehicles, leading resolution of issues arisen during validations and improving the design. Each activity needs to be completed within the given constraints which are scope, time, quality and most importantly budget.• Design: Sensor, module, bracket and special hardware designing by using Catia V5, and Teamcenter products• Application: Application of off-the-shelf sensor technologies to vehicle lines • Quality: Ensuring the vehicle-installed sensor parts produced by the global suppliers in accordance with Ford specifications where the final assemblies are required to meet vehicle attribute targets such as Packaging, NVH, Safety, Durability, TASE and Weight• Sourcing: Liaise with suppliers, purchasing team and finance team to initiate sourcing for installation components• Testing: Preparation of DV and PV test plans• Release: Release of installed parts to the vehicle line which I set the final part specifications• Cost Management: Ensuring the cost of the vehicle-installed parts under the program target• Project Management: Coordination of the all these activities• Deliverables: Each activity from concept study to mass production needs to be in line with Ford’s GPDS• Launch Support: Supporting the on-site prototype launches to aid vehicle assembly team and providing fast response to the issue raised during prototype assembly studiesI\'ve delivered the following products on this role; C344/C-Max with Fox UPG engine, C519/New Focus with Fox, Dragon GTDi and PFI engines, BX726/Puma with Fox UPG engine, BX726/Puma with DVNeo engine, V36X/Transit with RDE2.4 emissions
