ABOUT TUMIE MOKUENA

With a diverse background in music and film, I\'ve cultivated a dynamic career spanning both industries. Beginning as a Rapper/Songwriter in the group Clash 91, I ventured into entrepreneurship by founding Global Records in 2006, later rebranding to Empire Records in 2014. Alongside Empire Films, I oversaw the production of documentaries, social media content, and music videos, while managing artist social media accounts and album production. My proficiency in artist management and communication facilitated seamless Pre- and Post-Production coordination for music video shoots, showcasing my ability to bring creative visions to life. My passion for motion pictures led me to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Film Arts from the University of New Orleans, graduating Cum Laude. As a member of prestigious honor societies, including the Golden Key International Honour Society and The National Society of Collegiate Scholars, I honed my craft as a director and screenwriter, producing three acclaimed short films. Among them,\"A Taste of Home\" received recognition at multiple film festivals, including Best Performance Runner-Up at the UNO Film Festival and an honorable mention at the 1 World Student Film Festival. Additionally, my involvement in the UNO Filmmakers Club led to directing their Spring Production, showcasing my project management skills and ability to collaborate with emerging talent. My professional journey also includes roles at Comfy Stone Films and UNO’s Recreation & Fitness Center, where I contributed to various film productions and video marketing campaigns, demonstrating versatility across different mediums.
