WORK HISTORY
Renewable Power Engineer @Hatch
Calgary, AB, CA
As a Renewable Power Engineer at Hatch, I support the development and delivery of wind, solar, and battery energy storage projects across Canada. My role bridges technical due diligence, electrical design, and early-stage project planning.I managed proposals for substation design and technical due diligence services, aligning scope, budget, and deliverables with client needs. I conducted wind resource data validation using Python and Excel to inform site selection and energy modeling. I oversaw the installation of meteorological towers, ensuring proper siting and commissioning to support accurate long-term measurements. I performed technical due diligence for wind, solar, and BESS projects, reviewing electrical designs, permitting status, and construction readiness. I also executed basic electrical design for high-voltage substations, including cable sizing and HV equipment layout. My work improved the accuracy of project forecasts, enhanced client confidence in investment decisions, and supported the on-time delivery of engineering deliverables. I contributed to several successful bids and project approvals, advancing renewable energy development across multiple Canadian provinces.

ABOUT TULIO VALENTIM
I am a Renewable Energy Engineer with over 13 years of experience in the power sector, specializing in the development of utility-scale wind, solar, and storage projects across Canada, Latin America, and Europe. Currently at Hatch, I coordinate the installation of wind measurement equipment (LiDARs), lead substation and collector system design, and support grid integration studies. I also act as Independent Engineer for several wind, solar, and BESS projects across Canada, conducting technical due diligence, construction monitoring, and stakeholder reporting. My background includes extensive experience in energy resource assessments, interconnection studies, contract negotiation, and feasibility analysis. At UL Renewables, I executed wind and solar energy assessments and reviewed electrical designs and risks to support M&A and financing decisions across Brazil, Chile, Portugal, and Canada. Earlier in my career, I worked at Eletrobras Furnas, one of Brazil’s largest utilities, where I conducted feasibility studies, developed and supervised EPC contracts, and supported the commissioning of renewable and thermal power plants. I bring a strong combination of engineering depth and project development insight, with a commitment to advancing clean energy through practical, data-driven solutions.
