About Tulika Gupta
Tulika Gupta is a Chemist by training (Bachelors, Masters and PhD degree) but an enthusiastic organiser, seeker, administrator, writer as well as communicator.Tulika did her Masters in Chemistry from IIT Guwahati (India) and PhD in Computational Inorganic Chemistry from IIT Bombay (India). During her PhD, she worked on the interpretation of magnetic, electronic and spectroscopic properties of molecular nanomagnetic materials. After her PhD, she did a short-span postdoc at Heidelberg University, Germany to decipher catalyst-mediated inorganic reaction mechanisms employing computational tools. Currently, at Banaras Hindu University, she teaches chemistry, in addition to various administrative and research-related activities. Specialization in computational chemistry, electronic structure, molecular magnetism, theoretical magnetism and optical spectroscopies- with over 1100 citations in journals such as PNAS, PCCP, Inorg. Chem, CEJ, Chem. Comm. and Dalton Transactions. International recognition with numerous invited talks and workshop lectures. Total grant income over Rupee 3M. General expertise includes science writing, consulting, data analysis and event organization.
