About Shelly-Anne Tulia Scott
Tulia has about twenty years combined experience in Architecture and Interior Design. She has experience in several project types - Libraries, Mixed Use, Religious etc. Tulia has experience in managing teams and in the management, execution and production of conceptual design and production documents and her background in Interiors, problem solving, and space planning lends itself to all her projects. She is also very enthused about public interest design, community development and sustainable design. She spent 3 years exclusively working on several public and academic libraries in the southeastern region. She has also successfully built client relationships and done community engagement adding to the success of the projects. As an Enterprise Rose Architectural Fellow, she worked with a non-profit housing developer and operator of senior housing in the North Eastern market. The goal was to help build their in-house design capacity and build her own knowledge of housing using the Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) process and Continuing Care Retirement Communities. She is driven by her passion for design and motivated by her love for community engagement and life. One of her main passions is community development encompassing the design of both civic buildings and housing. Her main goal is to help bring the benefits of architecture and design to the people who need it most and help foster strategic partnerships with other entities and providers of services which help sustain and enhance community life. One of her favorite quotes by Samuel Mockbee: “Architecture has to be greater than just architecture. It has to address social values, as well as technical and aesthetic values. On top of that, the one true gift that an architect has is his or her imagination. We take something ordinary and elevate it to something extraordinary.”Specialties: Public & Academic Libraries, Affordable Housing Development & Community Based Projects.
