ABOUT TUGCE DIRICAN

I completed my undergraduate degree in Nutrition and Dietetics at Marmara University, graduating with honors. During my studies, I undertook a research project titled \"Evaluation of Rheum ribes L. as an Antioxidant Food Additive,\" supported by TÜBİTAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey). My undergraduate thesis focused on \"Quality of Life, Perceived Stress, and Nutrition in Patients with Irritable Bowel Syndrome,\" which was subsequently published as a descriptive study in the North African Journal of Food and Nutrition Research (NAJFNR). Following my undergraduate studies, I gained practical experience as a bariatric surgery dietitian. This experience provided me with a deep understanding of the complexities of weight management and reinforced my commitment to evidence-based practice in clinical nutrition. Subsequently, I pursued a Master’s degree in Nutrition and Food Science at the University of Reading, where I graduated with honors. This advanced education allowed me to enhance my knowledge in areas such as advanced human nutrition, clinical nutrition, food science and food policy, and to engage in research that furthered my expertise in the field. Currently, I am serving as an Acute Adult Dietitian at the Royal Berkshire Hospital. In this role, I am dedicated to advancing my profession and making a meaningful impact on patients\' lives through my expertise and passion for nutrition.
