PhD Researcher, working on the synthesis, characterization, defect engineering, and oxidation kinetics of 2D MXenes and their nanocomposites with CNTs and polymers for EMI and IR shielding, semiconducting, and Joule heating applications. Detailed responsibilities include:1. Synthesized 16 types of MXenes (e.g, Ti₃C₂, Ti₃CN, Ti₄N₃, Mo₂Ti₂C₃, Mo₂TiC₂, Nb₄C₃, V₄C₃, Ta₄C₃, Ti₂C, Nb₂C, V₂C, Mo₂C, TiNbC, Ti₂VC₂, TiVC) via different methods, including wet chemical etching (MILD, MILD/HF, HF/HCl) and molten salt etching.2. Defect control in MXenes at MAX synthesis and MXene synthesis steps3. Studied oxidation kinetics and stability of MXenes using UV-visible spectroscopy and electrical conductivity measurements over time in both dried film form and dispersion state.4. Performed surface functionalization of MXenes using alkylated 3,4-dihydroxy-l-phenylalanine (ADOPA) molecules to enhance dispersibility in methanol, ethanol, acetone, isopropanol, and acetonitrile (MeCN).5. Developed thin films through spin coating, spray coating, and fabricated freestanding films using vacuum-assisted filtration and casting techniques on substrates such as silicon and glass.6.
