In my role as a credit analyst, what I do can be described that simply: analyzing credit. But what it really entails is deeper than that. I’ve always been someone who enjoys learning and is detail oriented, so this role is perfect for me. I learn the “why” of the numbers I analyze; why are we providing this credit, why are the numbers changing or constant, etc. This role provides me with something new to understand constantly, and that is why I enjoy what I do. The main role that I play as a credit analyst is assisting bankers in understanding more about the clients they look to make loans to. In the real estate space, this focuses around understanding the specific project as well as the client. Breaking down the numbers, identifying trends and oddities in those trends, among others.
