About Todd Truitt
I\'ve been lucky to have enjoyed a diverse and engaging technical career. Like many, I began my career at a start-up, which is the perfect environment to learn and do as many different roles as possible. I took full advantage of this! I started in a support role manning a technical help desk. However, I quickly branched out into software development and QA. As part of the product development team, I was liaised to the IT organization to help them tailor infrastructure investments to more cleanly meet the product teams\' needs. This lesson, that the value of IT is enabling the business, is one I\'ve embraced in all my roles. After the start-up IPO\'ed, I joined Cisco systems as an individual contributor in a technical sales role. After several years, I moved into a technical marketing role spearheading Cisco\'s entrance into IP Telephony. I quickly moved into a manager role, leading multiple teams all focused on field and customer training and enablement on our newest and most strategic products and technologies. After several years as a technical manager, I moved into the wireless business unit, where I assisted in the Airespace acquisition and integration into Cisco. I ended up leading two teams within this business unit: the product teams focused on outdoor wireless solutions, including the wireless mesh investment, and the world wide GTM initiatives. Ultimately, I moved back into field sales as a technical leader. At Cisco I lead the 125 pre-sales engineers, architects and managers for the US Enterprise West. After 5 incredibly successful years, I moved back to a pre-IPO start-up. At Illumio, I led, supported and enabled the pre-sales engineering organization in APAC for one of the top security start-ups in the industry. Most recently, I\'ve spent the last 5 years at Palo Alto Networks. I\'ve led both the West Majors and Strategic sales engineering teams and the Majors and Strategics Cloud Security solutions Architects for North America.
