About Travis Tramp

I have spent my professional life building, operating, and stewarding systems—technical, organizational, and human—at a variety of scales. While my roles have evolved, the through-line has remained constant: reliability, accountability, and service to the people who depend on those systems. My career can be understood through a small number of connected eras.My relationship with technology began early and practically. I built and sold custom PCs, supported users, hosted websites, and maintained servers long before these skills were formalized by titles or certifications. This period shaped a lifelong orientation toward learning by doing, understanding systems end-to-end, and taking responsibility for what I built and supported. For over three decades, I served as a hotelier and property owner, managing multiple hotels, leading large teams, and participating directly in the ground-up construction of new properties. This work required executive leadership and financial stewardship, but it was also deeply technical. I was responsible for the technology that made these organizations function—networks, VoIP systems, servers, surveillance, booking platforms, and point-of-sale infrastructure. Alongside this, I owned and managed single-family rental properties, reinforcing long-term systems thinking and accountability. As my hotelier chapter closed, I operated an independent home inspection business. This work was precise, standards-driven, and tool-intensive, emphasizing careful observation and clear communication. Though brief, it served as a deliberate transition toward renewed hands-on technical practice.I returned fully to technology, formalizing my experience through academic study and certification. I completed both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Information Technology, along with industry certifications spanning hardware, networking, security, service management, and cloud fundamentals. Today, I work in public service IT, supporting large-scale environments where reliability, documentation, and trust are essential.I describe myself as semi-retired—not as withdrawal, but as posture. I am no longer motivated by titles or ladder-climbing. Instead, I focus on stewardship: applying experience where it is useful, mentoring where it is welcomed, and contributing to systems that serve the public good.Across all eras, my principle has remained the same: build systems people can rely on, and stand behind them.

This era reflects my return to hands-on technology in a public service environment, where reliability, documentation, and trust are paramount. My work includes hardware repair, systems support, asset workflows, and warranty processes across a large, multi-site organization. I am consistently recognized for quality, throughput, and customer satisfaction, and I contribute through mentoring peers, developing onboarding resources, and improving knowledge systems. This role emphasizes stewardship over scale—doing the work well, supporting others, and maintaining systems people depend on daily.
