ABOUT LESLIE TRIPLETT

Partner at Triplett & Triplett | Advisors OVERVIEW I have practiced leadership as a CEO reporting to a Board and as a Board Chair overseeing a CEO. I have chaired Boards of Directors (both for and not-for-profit), merged private colleges, transformed a public community college into a teaching university, conducted government reviews, created governance models and mentored senior leaders. I\'m up for engagements that grab my interest. I am especially keen on organizations that consider the interests of clients, staff, and shareholders as equally important. A DEEPER DIVE Prior to establishing TTA, I led Kwantlen Polytechnic University (a public university in British Columbia, Canada) through transitions from a local community college to a university-college to a teaching university. I began as a faculty member in 1985 and retired as president in 2008 and was appointed President Emeritus in 2021. Prior to KPU, I held executive, marketing, and management education positions with the B.C. Telephone Company (now Telus), Xerox of Canada, and the Steel Company of Canada. Prior to these positions I was a captain in Canada’s Regular Army. I have served on boards large and small, public and private, for profit and not for profit, and ranging in size from TransLink (the transportation authority for the metro Vancouver area) to a small community Hospice Society. Other community service has included serving on the City of Richmond’s Economic Development Committee, the Government of Canada\'s Regional Advisory Committee to the Tsawwassen First Nation treaty negotiations, the Canadian Forces Liaison Council, chairing the Canadian Club of Vancouver, coordinating the British Columbia consultations of a Government of Canada Royal Commission, and leading a province wide review of Community Gaming Grants for the premier of British Columbia. I hold a B.A. from Concordia University, an M.B.A. from Simon Fraser University, and an LL.D.(Honoris Causa) from Kwantlen Polytechnic University. I am a British Columbia Premier’s academic leadership recipient of Queen Elizabeth II’s Golden Jubilee Medal, a Rotary International Paul Harris Fellow, and a Si:yam (Respected One) of the Kwantlen First Nation.
