CITYarts, Inc, is a non-profit public art and education organization created in 1989 by Tsipi Ben-Haim after its predecessor, Cityarts Workshop, closed down in 1988. The archives of both organizations are held in the collection of the New-York Historical Society. With a new name and a new mission as CITYarts, Inc, Tsipi Ben-Haim created a platform for the voices of our youth to be heard. Now CITYarts operates five programs that bring youth together with professional artists to create public art in New York City and around the world.CITYarts empowers youth to reach their potential through the creation of murals and mosaic thattransform their community, impact their lives, and address social and civic issues.Following the tragic events of September 11, CITYarts created the global program; YOUNG MINDS BUILD BRIDGES. Under which the CITYarts Pieces for Peace project connects youth around the world to imagine Peace on a 6X6 inches paper. We believe it\'ll promote intercultural understanding and collaboration across the world.
