In 2020, our university’s Medical School celebrated the 150th anniversary of its founding. Our university has broad richly verdant campus in the heart of Okayama City, which has such a mild climate called “The Sunny Country.” Currently about students, including exchange students, and faculty members devote themselves to studies in this felicitous environment. Okayama University continues to make significant strides towards realizing the Sustainable Development Goals. Okayama University has an especially strong commitment to laying the foundations for the continual evolution of human society. We were the first Asian UNESCO chair, in recognition of our efforts in the field of ESD, or Education for Sustainable Development. We are striving to function as a research university in pursuit of greater sustainability and well-being by using the SDGs as a common language to strength more integrated partnership with local and international communities.
