About Trung-Hieu Hoang
Trung-Hieu Hoang received his Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), advised by Prof. Minh N. Do. His research focuses on developing computer vision (CV) and machine learning (ML) for AI in healthcare. This spans two directions: 1) making the ML model robust under test-time distribution shifts, via test-time adaptation, and 2) developing novel CV/ML algorithms to advance machine vision perception in telehealth applications. He published more than 20 peer-reviewed articles and was honored to receive the Best Paper Award at the 1st Workshop on Test-Time Adaptation at CVPR 2024, the Qualcomm Graduate Award, and several other fellowships. He also serves as a reviewer for international conferences and journals in CV/ML, AI for healthcare. Before UIUC, he obtained his B.Sc. degree (honors program) at the University of Science, VNU-HCM under the supervision of Prof. Minh-Triet Tran.
