WORK HISTORY
Software Engineering Manager @Colorado Public Radio
CO, US
Our small team manages a large, headless WordPress codebase, ensuring seamless operations and high performance. As the engineering manager I\'ve been lucky enough to help implement several new accessibility measures, significantly boosting audience engagement and reach for cpr.org and denverite.com.My initiatives have resulted in a 75% reduction in hosting costs and a 3x increase in site load speed by deploying a CDN, image caching, and workers via Cloudflare\'s Project Galileo.There\'s still much to do. While we\'re a small team we\'re still adding features to the site, helping with campaigns, and building tighter integrations both with our parent organization and other newsrooms in Colorado through the Colorado Capital News Alliance. This year I\'m looking forward to further improving accessibility, carefully and thoughtfully adding LLM functionalities where they make sense, and continuing to improve site security.
