ABOUT TROY KOKOL
Troy Kokol is an award-winning Canadian singer, producer, animator, and songwriter with over 250 cuts to his name in a variety of music genres, TV, and film. Troy is a recipient of the SOCAN Award for Country Music and a 2-time CCMA Songwriter of the Year nominee.As a songwriter, Kokol has had cuts with many artists, including Australian Hayley Jensen, Brett Kissel, Jerry Sereda, Jake Mathews, Don Amero, and Shane Yellowbird, whose single,\"Pick Up Truck\"(written with Joni Delaurier) was listed #6 all-time on Canadian country radio by Billboard.As a solo artist, Troy took home Indigenous Artist of the Year honours at the 2024 YYC Music Awards. Kokol records, mixes, and masters his own albums and creates animated videos for the majority of his projects, including “Lonely Ghost”, which was nominated for the 2018 Indigenous Music Awards – Best Folk Album and won Songwriter and Video of the Year at the 2020 YYC Music Awards. Additionally, Troy\'s duo, Scarlett Butler, took home the Songwriter of the Year award at the 2022 CMAB Awards in Red Deer for their Top 50 Billboard single \"Looking For a Lockdown with You\".Beyond his own albums, Troy has produced and engineered projects for a wide range of artists from his Calgary studio, including Clayton Bellamy, Aaron Goodvin, Michelle Wright, CBC Heartland’s Amber Marshall, Duane Steele, Jerry Sereda and Australia’s Hayley Jensen whose album Breakin’ Hearts reached #1 on the ARIA Country Album chart in 2021, and her follow-up record Country Soul; nominated for the CMA Australia Album of the Year and made her the nations #1 selling female country music artist in 2025.
