About Tristan Barston

Some people learn response planning from books. I learnt it in the rain — as a small child in England delivering newspapers by bike in all weathers, discovering early on that having a commitment to success matters just as much as having a plan. Later, through service in both the British and American military, those lessons became disciplines: prepare properly, move quickly, and protect what matters when conditions change without warning.Since 2007, I have brought that mindset to OSRL, helping strengthen oil spill preparedness around the globe by translating “theoretical planning” into real world readiness. My work is focused on making emergency preparedness an adaptable resource that can be called upon immediately, enabling data driven, action orientated decision making in time critical situations.Your emergency preparedness plans shouldn’t live in a binder. If you want to make them operational, connect with the OSRL Americas team.
