Special projects at the intersection of data and strategy. In January 2024 I was named one of Providence\'s first two Engineering Fellows. Four recent projects I\'m especially proud of:Leading the design, navigating approvals for, and helping with the direction of our internal general-purpose chat service ProvidenceChat. In 2024, based on user surveys we estimate the tool generated the equivalent of 56 FTEs or about $7.5M in saved time.Leading the development of a guardrails process for AI solutions, ensuring that all potential solutions receive appropriate oversight. The fact that this closely matched the lifecycle CHAI later put out was a nice bonus.Leading a team in a strategic foresight project over the course of 2024, examining possible futures for US non-profit healthcare over the next 10 years and proposing strategic responses.Building a data ethics practice at Providence, serving as vice-chair of our Data Ethics Committee, and leading our ethics evaluation process for AI solutions.
