About Tripp Shewmake

Tripp Shewmake is a Digital Engineering Director for Warner Bros. Discovery\'s Direct To Consumer organization. His most recent project is to provide remote access to all devices supported by Warner Bros. Discovery\'s streaming applications including Discovery Plus and HBO Max. This exciting challenge requires Tripp and his organization to work with a broad set of devices ranging from smart phones to video game consoles in order to support a variety of use cases across development, testing, product, and customer service teams. Devices must be available worldwide, 24/7 for automated and manual control. Tripp is most passionate about people management. He builds strong, trust-based relationships to help others overcome challenges and constantly improve both technical and soft skills. Tripp believes strong organizations invest heavily in the interview and hiring process to find the best talent and champion a transparent, supportive, and fun work environment to retain the team members long term. For the past 15 years, Tripp has served in various engineering and leadership roles at Warner Bros. Discovery which acquired Scripps Networks in 2018. Prior to joining Warner Bros. Discovery/Scripps Networks, he worked as a software engineer for Dollar General and specialized in big data financial and inventory reconciliation systems. He also has served in management and leadership roles for Kroger and CompUSA giving him 25 years of combined engineering and leadership experience. He holds undergraduate degrees in computer science and psychology along with a master’s degree in computer science - all from The University of Tennessee. Tripp lives in Knoxville, TN with his wife Amy and their children.
