ABOUT TRINA ROACHE
I\'m a member of the Glooscap First Nation in Mi\'kma\'ki and an Assistant Professor at the University of King\'s College School of Journalism in Kjipuktuk (Halifax). I\'ve spent my career focused on telling stories about the concerns, issues, challenges, rights, and resilience of Indigenous people in Canada. I\'ve worked for APTN National News, APTN Investigates, and CBC in both daily news and long-form investigative video journalism. My specialties are visual storytelling, Indigenous reporting, and investigative journalism. I completed my MA in History at Dalhousie University and focused on Mi’kmaw connections to land, Mi’kmaw women, and how Mi’kmaq navigated colonial policies like relocation.
