In my role as the Director of Supply Chain at Plenty®, I Led the creation of a Strategic Supply Chain Department following the merger with Bright Agrotech. Hired and managed a high-performing team overseeing several hundred million in R&D capital and infrastructure projects across several states including California, Washington, Wyoming, and Virginia within the constraints of a venture capital (VC)-backed startup. Directed comprehensive procurement operations, including warehousing & logistics, and both direct and indirect procurement, to support ongoing farm operations and corporate services. Spearheaded the development and implementation of strategic procurement frameworks, improving supplier relationships and reducing costs. Led contract negotiations for multimillion-dollar agreements, securing long-term partnerships to enhance supply chain reliability and securing favorable payment terms, extending cash runway. Integrated simple analytics and forecasting models to optimize inventory management, significantly reducing stockouts and improving on-time deliveries. Fostered cross-functional collaboration across procurement & logistics, commercial, product, deployment, operations, and R&D teams, driving enhanced efficiency and synergy. Sourced and delivered a first-of-its-kind, most advanced, largest indoor vertical farm in the world, growing leafy greens distributed to over ~500 stores nationwide.
