About Trianna Downing
I am a communications and community engagement professional dedicated to advancing educational equity and building stronger connections between families, schools, and communities. I believe that when families are informed and empowered, students, families, and communities thrive!I currently serve as the Community Action Team Specialist for Wards 2 & 3 within the Office of External Affairs for DC Public Schools (DCPS). In my role, I work to ensure consistent engagement and communication between the district, our DC Public Schools, and the broader community! My expertise from my prior work experience spans strategic planning event management, communications, and partnership development, all grounded in a strong belief in service. I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Business Economics and Public Policy from The George Washington University and a Master of Science in Education Policy from Johns Hopkins University, where I graduated in May 2025. When I’m not working, I enjoy curating Spotify playlists (I have over 100!) and creating collages for a scrapbook I’ve been building since 2020. I’m always eager to connect with others who share a passion for education, equity, and community impact!
