I am currently pursuing my Juris Doctor Degree from Indiana University Maurer School of Law.Prior to law school, I spent 22 months in commercial insurance, joining XL Catlin\'s Excess Casualty line of business in Dallas as a Underwriting Assistant in October 2016. As an Underwriting Assistant, I was responsible for servicing, pricing, and writing 130+ accounts with gross written premium exceeding $10m per year. The risks that I assessed spanned nearly every industry that purchased Umbrella limits; from tech manufacturing, real estate investment trusts (REITs), food service, industrial fabrication, pest control, long haul trucking, to art museums. In my role as an Underwiting Assistant, I communicated between underwriting, brokers, and the insured in order to provide the best coverage possible for any risk. In addition to my responsibilities in writing accounts, I sought to innovate and streamline the internal processes used daily, primarily with Microsoft Excel. During my first year, I was called to give Excel demonstrations and training on the methods I used, ultimately leading 5 separate presentations to 100+ peers in Excess Casualty. I then was tasked with managing the Account Logs for our South Central region that was utilized by Underwriting Managers in reporting figures to senior leadership.Upon my graduation from the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor\'s Degree in Finance, I joined The Kenrich Group\'s Dallas Office as a Staff Consultant in May 2015. My experiences with Kenrich varied from the valuation of damages in construction, utilities, and commercial litigation matters to preparing charts and graphics for use in court by expert witnesses. These services aid our clients in their mediation and litigation efforts. During this time, my specialties included: damages analysis, cost analysis, financial analysis, and delay and disruption impact analysis.
