ABOUT TREVOR HALDENBY
Trevor Haldenby is an imaginative futurist who helps leadership teams tell new kinds of stories about the world of tomorrow. He has presented and performed at TED, the World Future Society Conference, Autodesk University, Merging Media, DIY Days, TEDx OCADU, and the CBC.In 2012, Trevor founded The Mission Business, a design studio that brings future scenarios to life as immersive live performances. Award-winning projects include Visitations [2013] a 21st century ghost story set in Toronto’s Drake Hotel, ZED.TO: ByoLogyc [2012] a 9-month simulation of the outbreak of a synthetic pandemic, and Shadowfall [2014] an interactive adventure into the future of AI and ET that launched the IDEAS conference at NASA Research Park.He is a graduate of the CFC Media Lab [2005], and OCAD University’s MDes program in Strategic Foresight and Innovation [2013]. As interactive producer he has worked on futuristic online projects including the virtual world Habbo Hotel, and Earth Rangers’ Bring Back the Wild eco-crowdfunding platform. He has also collaborated with Autodesk, the National Film Board of Canada, Arup, and Synbiota to design campaigns about the future of each organization.Trevor’s digital artworks have won acclaim and redrawn borders in interactive storytelling, including the installation Painting The Myth: The Mystery of Tom Thomson, the interactive documentary New Media // New Trends, live music visualizations with Spiral Beach, and work as official photographer for some of Canada’s most creative organizations.
