WORK HISTORY
Statistical Research Assistant @Ucla Fielding School Of Public Health
Conducted statistical research under Dr. Srikanth Kadiyala at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health, focused on off-label hormone replacement therapy (HRT) prescribing patterns in the United States (manuscript in submission).I built and analyzed a pooled cross-sectional dataset of 28,600+ female patients drawn from the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS) across 8 years, merging administrative claims files to distinguish on-label from off-label HRT use. To evaluate the causal impact of the 2002 Women\'s Health Initiative trial on prescribing behavior and patient expenditure, I designed and estimated interrupted time series (ITS) regression models using both OLS and Poisson specifications, stratified across demographic subgroups. This project sharpened my ability to work with large, complex health datasets and apply rigorous causal inference methods to real-world clinical policy questions — and deepened my interest in how data can drive more equitable healthcare.

ABOUT TREVOR NGHIEM
I\'m a UCLA undergraduate studying Data Science & Statistics with a minor in Asian American Studies, on the premed track. My work sits at the intersection of quantitative research and medicine, from building interrupted time series models to evaluate HRT prescribing patterns under Dr. Srikanth Kadiyala, to investigating craniofacial biology in the Farmer Lab using zebrafish genetics.I\'m drawn to questions where data can meaningfully shape clinical decision-making and health equity, and shadowing across five medical specialties has only deepened that interest.I\'m always looking to connect with people working at the crossroads of data and medicine.
