ABOUT TREVOR DOLAN
I\'m a dedicated climate policy researcher and advocate with expertise on the intersections of climate, workforce development, and organized labor. I have additional experience with policy work relating to environmental justice, industrial decarbonization, the built environment, and international climate agreements. I\'ve worked directly with White House staff on developing the American Climate Corps; advocated for novel applications of the Defense Production Act at the Department of Energy; had published interviews on various climate policy topics in the Washington Post, The American Prospect, and The Hill, among other outlets; and broadly advanced a vision for bold federal and state governance to tackle the climate crisis and deliver for underserved communities and working families. I earned my Masters in Environmental Management at the Yale School of the Environment, where I closely studied the physical science of climate change, public policy tools for mitigation and adaptation, and social science perspectives on the climate’s human impact. My research ranged from a review of Hurricane Sandy’s adaptation and health implications to a linguistic anthropological analysis of American discourse about climate change. Outside of the classroom, I gained hands-on experience in crafting environmental communications as the Editor-in-Chief of SAGE Magazine and Programming Director for the Environmental Film Festival at Yale. Taken together, my studies and nonacademic work have offered a comprehensive view of climate change’s risks, opportunities, and strategies for mitigation and adaptation. I\'ve planned high-impact policy advocacy campaigns, written major policy white papers, helped draft federal and state legislation based on my work, advocated directly to staff in Congress and at federal and state agencies, built coalitions to advance ambitious climate policy, and more. Having cut my teeth in a startup environment at Evergreen Action, I\'m equipped for soup-to-nuts policy development and campaigning on diverse topics. I\'m not currently looking for work, but I\'m always happy to connect with others in the field - and folks newer to this space who are interested in learning more about the work!
