My passion for information technology and security is what prompted me to pursue a Bachelor of Business Administration in Information Technology with a concentration in Telecommunications/Networking.(Graduated May, 2018) During my time at Texas Tech, I was lead instructor for the Rawls Information Security Association\'s Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking Course. For this course, two associates and I created a 6 week class for both technical and non-technical students without any GNU/Linux and penetration testing background to having a solid foundation of security concepts, tools, and usage. We also created a CTF for the end of the course so that the students would be able to apply what they learned in their virtual lab environment, as well as earn a micro certification in ethical hacking upon successful completion. Throughout the course, we covered tools and concepts such as port scanning with Nmap, web application security testing with Nikto and Burp Suite, Metasploit, MITM attacks with Wireshark and Ettercap, creating reverse shells, and privilege escalation exploits. I have been fortunate enough to attend several Computer security conferences the past few years including Defcon 25, BSides DFW, and North Texas ISSA. I\'ve also completed several capture the flag challenges, and I\'m currently ranked in the top 1% out of over members on Hack The Box CTF.(hackthebox.eu)The RISA Malware Research Committee is another group I am involved in. We have successfully reverse engineered malware and performed packet analysis with Wireshark to find C&C servers and figure out what data is being sent by various malware samples.Security breaches are on the rise, and businesses more than ever need people who can stay on top of the ever-changing methods attackers use. My mission is to help organisations build a safer workplace and worry less about protecting their assets.
