HiPhi’s core vision to help restore the health, beauty and balance in an economic system that opposes industrial agriculture, and that supports rather than depletes nature. The organization will address the profound challenges facing our farmers, communities, and ecosystems to protect, nurture, connect, and share innovative solutions. The organization seeks solutions that can work in, but also beyond the High Plains. They also agreed to change the name to HiPhi, bringing in the meaning of Phi: balance in nature. HiPhi’s mission is to provide the farming community, researchers, stewards and innovators with the expertise, capacity, and strategic partnerships needed to implement nature-based solutions that contribute to both economic growth and climate solutions. HiPhi will develop science-based, proven and scalable demonstrations that recognize the grower as the center of local economies and communities, and to develop and deploy those demonstrated land-based bioregional dynamic solutions regionally and globally. Our first project is the High Plains Farming Initiative which will develop resources, budgets, benchmarks and funding to launch specific activities and programs on-site with our researchers, educators and nonprofit partners. The goal is to break ground in 2026 and begin construction of the administrative, laboratory, residence and teaching buildings, that include land management and livability strategies. These strategies will highlight on-site farmer education, regenerative and conservation programs, and model a circular economy that benefits the High Plains community.
