ABOUT TREVOR STOCKER

A senior operations & safety leader in light rail with 20+ years’ experience across Operations, QHSE and Resource Planning, with a proven record leading 200+ operational employees and building a data-led safety culture, governance and performance. I am trusted liaison with Clients, Department for Transport (DfT), Light Rail Safety & Standards Board (LRSSB) emergency services and local partners. Able to negotiate and develop initiatives for the benefit of the customer experience and business. Most recently delivering options for timetable enhancements to support the night time economy in Nottingham.I am experienced in delivering business change and improvements through consultation, team restructures and contingency planning including operating services during industrial action. Being a confident data analyst I use my experience to identify, emerging trends, safety incidents and to work with partners, develop CAPEX or OPEX proposals to initiate business improvements that benefit the customer journey. In the past, I have used this approach to deliver key safety initiatives on the network reducing the number of road traffic collisions.As my knowledge of the industry has grown I have come to recognise that public transport has a positive role to play within the wider community. I actively engage myself and the business with charities and local groups that work around the network to improve the lives of others. For example, working with the Pythian Club in Nottingham, that delivers outreach work on the network and helps us to deliver key safety messages in schools.I am a passionate champion for improving the public transport industry and have always looked for opportunities to promote and improve it.
